Medical Assistant at DACC
What is the Medical Assisting Program
The Medical Assisting program prepares students for a career in the medical field. The program provides the student with entry-level theory and "hands-on" training in basic and routine administrative and clinical tasks. Upon graduation, the graduate will be able to take the national credentialing exams available for a Medical Assistant. The cumulative percentage for Exam Passage is 100% for 2022—2023.
Job opportunities for Medical Assistant graduates
Medical Assistants primarily work in an outpatient setting. However, there are other opportunities available such as chiropractor’s office, podiatrist office, or a rehabilitation center. The Medical Assistant career is in high demand. The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics project Employment of medical assistants is projected to grow 15 percent from 2023 to 2033, much faster than the average for all occupations. About 119,800 openings for medical assistants are projected each year, on average, over the decade. (BLS.gov)
