Danville Area Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, a regional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Information describing the College’s accreditations, licensures, and approvals may be reviewed by contacting the Secretary to the Board of Trustees, Danville Area Community College, Administration Building/Vermilion Hall, Room 202, 2000 E. Accreditation matters. It provides assurance that our College at its academic programs are of high quality. As a regionally accredited institution, DACC has access to federal and state funding to support student financial aid programs. Accreditation is also important for students who transfer to universities.
Initial accreditation was granted to Danville Area Community College on April 6, 1967 and reaccreditation takes place on a recurring schedule. DACC is part of the HLC Standard Pathway and most recently completed the process for re-accreditation in spring 2019. The next comprehensive evaluation for reaffirmation of accreditation will be completed in 2029-2030.

DACC's Cancer Registry Certificate program is fully accredited by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA®). Please go to the Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) exam web page to learn more about requirements ODS [formerly the Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR)].
Benefits of an NCRA-Accredited Program
ODS (CTR) Credential – NCRA accreditation ensures students who successfully complete the program have fulfilled the eligibility requirements to take the Oncology Data Specialist exam.
Quality – NCRA accreditation indicates the CRMC program meets the educational standards set by the national association that represents over 5,000 cancer registry professionals.
Resources – NCRA provides valuable resources and support including access to NCRA’s job bank and other helpful online resources

The DACC Health Information Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
The Health Information Technology Program accreditor of Danville Area Community College is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for Associate Degree in Health Information Technology has been reaffirmed through 2029. All inquiries about the program’s accreditation status should be directed by mail to CAHIIM.

The DACC Nursing Program is an approved program by the State of IL Board of Nursing. Our curriculum centers around the required academic and clinical experience listed in the IL Nurse Practice Act and the IL Nurse Practice Rules. We are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN.).
Students considering a program of study that leads to professional licensure, endorsement or certification in Nursing should contact the appropriate licensing agency in the state where you plan to be licensed prior to enrollment at Danville Area Community College to ensure the coursework meets that state's requirements.
