Installation Of The Lockdown Browser For Windows

Downloading the Windows LockDown Browser

  1. To install the Respondus Lockdown Browser on your Windows computer follow these steps:
  2. Click on the link provided to you by your instructor or use this link https://download.respondus.com/lockdown/download.php?id=763266066 if your instructor has not given you a link to start the download for the Respondus Lockdown Browser.
  3. Check the system requirements before installing the Respondus Lockdown Browser to make sure that your device is able to use the Respondus Lockdown Browser smoothly.
  4. Click Install Now and to download the Respondus Lockdown Browser for your computer.

Using the LockDown Browser On Canvas Quizzes

Beginning A Classic Quiz

  1. Close all programs, unless one is used to connect you to the Internet.
  2. Locate the "LockDownBrowser" shortcut on the desktop and double-click it.
  3. If prompted, either close a blocked program by choosing Yes. Or, close LockDown Browser and close the blocked program before restarting.
  4. Log into Canvas.
  5. Navigate to the quiz within the course and begin the quiz.

Note: Once a quiz have been started with Respondus LockDown Browser, you cannot exit until the quiz has been submitted for grading

Beginning A New Quiz

  1. Close all programs, unless one is used to connect you to the internet.
  2. Log into Canvas with a regular browser, select the course and navigate tot he quiz.
  3. If LockDown Browser has not previously been installed, you will be prompted to download and install the browser.
  4. Return to the quiz and open it to launch LockDown Browser.
  5. If prompted to close a blocked program, choose Yes.

Note: Once a quiz have been started with Respondus LockDown Browser, you cannot exit until the quiz has been submitted for grading.
