I believe that effective healthcare education goes beyond memorizing facts and completing skills checklists. My goal as an educator is to help students develop the knowledge, confidence, critical-thinking skills, and compassion they need to provide safe, respectful, and meaningful care to others.

I believe students learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process. I incorporate hands-on activities, real-life scenarios, discussion, and practical application to help students connect classroom concepts to the experiences they will encounter in the healthcare setting. I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning from those experiences.

Every student brings different experiences, strengths, and learning needs to the classroom. I believe it is my responsibility to meet students where they are while maintaining high expectations for their growth and professionalism. I encourage students to challenge themselves, think critically, and understand not only how to perform a skill, but why it matters to the person receiving care.

Most importantly, I want my students to understand that healthcare is about people. Technical skills and knowledge are essential, but compassion, dignity, communication, and respect are equally important. My hope is that students leave my classroom not only prepared to perform their role safely and competently, but also prepared to make a positive difference in the lives of the individuals they serve.
