Board members shall, on the date of their election, be citizens of the United States, eighteen (18) years of age or older, and residents of Illinois and District 507 for at least one (1) year immediately preceding the election. Any current member of a common school board would be prohibited from running for reelection to that post while serving on the Board of Trustees.
