1006 Organization of the Board and Term of Office

The officers of the Board are the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer. The President of the College serves the Board as Chief Executive Officer. Following each election and canvass, the new Board shall hold its organizational meeting on or before the 14th day after the election, except that in 1999, 2001, and 2003 the Board shall organize within 14 days after the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November in each of those three years (Chapter 10 ILCS Section 805/3-8). The new Board shall elect members to serve two-year terms as Chairman and Vice Chairman. The Board also elects a Secretary who may or may not be a member of the Board. The Secretary serves a two-year term and receives such compensation as the Board shall determine. The Board appoints a Treasurer who shall not be a member of the Board. The Treasurer serves at the pleasure of the Board, subject to biennial reappointment, and shall receive such compensation as the Board determines.
