Danville Area Community College has the following used machinery for sale available to the highest bidder.

Sealed bids will be opened at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in the office of the Assistant Vice President of Finance in Vermilion Hall, Room 116. DACC reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids for any or no reason.

This crane equipment may be viewed at the DACC Technology Center. To schedule an appointment, contact Todd Flessner at 217-443-8578.

Only bids submitted on the official DACC BID AGREEMENT FORM will be accepted.

The successful bidder shall hold harmless Danville Area Community College and its employees and agents from and against any and all suits, claims, and demands, as well as attorney fees, cost, and expenses based on or resulting from any injury or death of any person or persons, or damages to property caused or alleged to have occurred in connection with the purchase and/or use of any machinery/equipment purchased from Danville Area Community College.

The successful bidder must remove the crane equipment by Thursday, June 13, 2024

Description: Portable overhead 5 ton bridge crane, with 4 caster wheels. Includes JET hoist, where the lateral movement is powered by a 230V 3 phase electric motor, with pendant, and the raise/lower mechanism is a manual chain winch.

Approx. Dimensions: The width or span of the bridge is 14 feet, the height is 12 feet 8 inches, and the A frame spread is 7 feet.

The MSRP on a new Spanco 5F1515 is over $12,000.

The successful bidder must remove the alignment equipment by Thursday, June 13, 2024

Bidding Instructions

  1. BID INSTRUCTIONS. Bids to be considered must be made in accordance with the instructions contained herein. 
     
  2. BID FORMS. Bids shall be submitted on forms furnished by Danville Area Community College. The wording of the Bid Form shall not be changed or supplemented except in accordance with the instructions. All spaces shall be filled in with ink or typewritten. Where amounts are given both in words and figures, the words will govern in the event of conflict. The signer must initial any erasures or corrections on the Bid Form. 
     
  3. SIGNATURES. Each bid agreement form shall be clearly and properly signed with complete name, address, and telephone information. 
     
  4. MARKING AND DELIVERY OF BIDS. Bids must be securely sealed in an opaque envelope and addressed to the Vice President of Administrative Services, Danville Area Community College, 2000 East Main Street, Danville, Illinois 61832. Envelope should be marked BID: Used Crane Equipment For Sale. All bids must reach the office of the Vice President of Administrative Services, Room 116, by 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, to be considered. Bids received after time of closing will be returned to the bidder unopened. 
     
  5. ELECTRONIC BIDS may be emailed to c.lewis@dacc.edu The attachment must be in Adobe PDF format containing all signed and dated bid documents listed in this bid packet. The subject line should read BID: Used Crane Equipment For Sale. All electronic bid packets must reach this email address by the time and date listed in number 4 above. The bidder assumes the risk of premature disclosure due to submission in an unsealed form. 
     
  6. OPENING OF BIDS. Bids will be opened and read aloud immediately following the closing time for receiving bids. Any interested parties are invited to attend. 
     
  7. ACCEPTANCE OF BIDS. Danville Area Community College reserves the right to reject any and all bids, any portion of a bid for any or no reason, and to waive any minor irregularities. The College will award the machinery to the highest responsible bidder. The College reserves the right to require proof of financial responsibility. 
     
  8. DISCRIMINATION. This contract is also subject to the Illinois Act prohibiting discrimination in public contracts (29 ILL. REV. STAT., SECTION 17, et seq.) and the rules and regulations of the Illinois Department of Human Rights with respect to public contracts. The bidder shall comply with Section 23 of said Act. 
     
  9. The successful bidder shall hold harmless Danville Area Community College and its employees and agents from and against any and all suits, claims, and demands, as well as attorney fees, cost, and expenses based on or resulting from any injury or death of any person or persons, or damages to property caused or alleged to have occurred in connection with the purchase and/or use of any used machinery purchased from Danville Area Community College. Machinery will be sold “as is”.
