My teaching philosophy can best be described by talk, show, do. I believe active participation combined with academic and hands on learning yields the best understanding of the material covered. The use of interactive lecture where information is imparted and students are actively encouraged to discuss the material in real time helps the auditory and visual learners. This is followed by an interactive simulation portion which helps the more tactile learners. Finally, the students are asked to demonstrate their mastery of the subject material by working through a scenario and applying the knowledge, they have acquired in the proper way. Thus, demonstrating an understanding of the material, its application, and a full understanding of what is being taught.
