Are You Interested In A Career In Construction and the Building Trades?
Illinois Works’ FREE Pre-apprenticeship program can prepare you to successfully transition to a Department of Labor registered apprenticeship in the trades!
About the Program
Illinois Works and Danville Area Community College's Pre-Apprenticeship program will prepare students to successfully transition to a registered apprenticeship in the following trades:
- Carpentry
- Plumbing
- Construction
In addition to gaining the experience and skills necessary for union apprenticeships, students will also earn a certificate from DACC, setting them apart from other applicants.
Tuition and fees for this program will be entirely grant-funded. What's more, students will earn money while attending class and may be eligible for assistance with childcare, housing, and tutoring, if needed.
Target Audience
All Illinois residents are welcome with an emphasis on women, people of color and veterans

Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum Age of 18 Years Old
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED/HiSET
- Illinois Resident
