The Auto Technology course is offered during the morning and afternoon College Express times. Do you love cars and enjoy figuring out how they work? An automobile technician's job is to maintain and repair vehicles. The exact type of work a technician does, however, depnds on is his or her training. Some specialize in a specific brand of vehicle (for example, Ford), while others service all makes and models.
Due to the complexity of today's vehicles, many technicians specialize in particular areas of repair: for example, alignment and tire balance, air conditioning, brakes, engine and fuel systems, hybrid and elextrical motors, sterring and suspension, and many elextronic systems. Automotive technicians working in small shops tend to perform a wider variety of tasks than those in large shops, where specialization is more common.
Students enrolled in Automotive Technology can earn college credit during high school and will take the following classes if they complete both years of the program.
