Explore Career Opportunities at the DACC Career Expo

Career Expo, Thursday, April 24, 2025

Danville Area Community College will host its annual Career Expo on Thursday, April 24, in the Mary Miller Gymnasium. The event is open to students only from 9 to 11 a.m., and to the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food vendors Up in Smoke and The Sugar Plum 365 will be on-site during the event.

Co-sponsored by Vermilion Advantage, Central Illinois Media Group, the American Job Center, and Vermilion County Works, the Career Expo is the perfect opportunity to meet employers and explore job opportunities across many industries—all under one roof.

“This Career Expo is an excellent chance to explore multiple job opportunities in one place,” said Chuck Jones, Director of Vermilion County Works. “Join us for a day of networking, job opportunities, and career growth as we connect job seekers with top employers in the area.”

More than 60 employers will be in attendance, including:

  • Carle
  • Watchfire Signs
  • OSF Healthcare
  • AutoZone Distribution Center
  • thyssenkrupp
  • United States Army
  • City of Danville Police and Fire Departments
  • FedEx Ground
  • Illinois Department of Corrections
  • and many others.

Attendees will have the chance to learn about job openings, training requirements, and what employers are looking for. The event is open to anyone looking for part-time, full-time, or future employment. Participants are encouraged to dress professionally and bring several copies of their resume.

To help job seekers get ready, DACC will host a Resume Workshop on Tuesday, April 15 from Noon to 2 p.m. in the DACC Career Services Center, located in Cannon Hall Room 213 (CH 213). The workshop will cover resume writing, formatting tips, and how to highlight your strongest qualifications.

“Prepare your resume for the upcoming DACC Career Expo,” said Ami Siefert, Director of Career Services and the Veteran Center at DACC. “This workshop is a great opportunity to polish your resume, ask questions, and get one-on-one help from our staff.”

The Career Center at DACC coordinates and supports all employment and career planning activities in partnership with students, faculty, and area employers. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., though hours may vary due to events or meetings. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome if staff are available.
