Culinary Arts’ Annual Thanksgiving Scholarship Fundraiser

The Culinary Arts program is taking orders for desserts suitable for your Thanksgiving table. Money raised from sales will support the Culinary Arts Scholarship, established to assist students with the cost of culinary classes.

All orders are due to Instructor Dana Wheeler by Friday, November 22.

Orders must be paid for at the DACC cashier office and receipt and order form (available above) sent, taken, or e-mailed to Dana Wheeler, Culinary Arts, or call 217-918-0573. Leave a message and your call will be returned.

Pick up orders 9AM-1PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Bremer Conference Center, Room 111. Doors will be locked until 9AM. Must bring cashier receipt at time of pickup.

All money goes to support the DACC Culinary Arts Scholarship Fund.

With a focus on food preparation and production skills, nutrition, and food safety and sanitation, the Culinary Arts Certificate program prepares students for various entry-level positions in the food service industry. Classes in this financial aid-eligible certificate program provide practical, hands-on culinary experience in a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen, guided by master chefs. Individuals not pursuing the certificate program, but very interested in increasing their culinary knowledge and skills, can select any of the courses listed below, based on their own interests. Classes may also be taken as electives towards a degree. The total required hours for the certificate is 30 hours. Students do not have to take all of the classes listed. You can choose which 10 of the 11 classes to take for the certificate.  To view full course descriptions, click here.

If you are a Junior or Senior in High School in the DACC District, a 12-credit hour College Express Culinary Arts Program is available with condensed versions of the courses from our 30-credit hour Program.  Ask your High School Guidance Counselor for information on enrolling in the following courses:
