DACC Honor Society Inducts New Members

DACC’s Pi Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society inducted 13 new members on Wednesday, March 1, during its Spring Induction Ceremony. Pi Omega Chapter members at DACC must be in the top seven percent of their class and must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher to qualify for membership. They must have accumulated 12 college credits before they are eligible for membership.

DACC March Late Start Classes for Spring 2023

It’s not too late to Write YOUR Story at DACC! Register for Spring late start classes at Danville Area Community College. The Spring 2023 late start classes begin March 13.

DACC Fall 2022 President's & Honors List

Danville Area Community College has released a list of its honor students for the Fall 2022 Semester.

 
A student must carry 12 or more credit hours and a straight A (4.0) average on a 4.0 scale to be included on the President’s List. To be included on the Honors List, a student must carry 12 or more credit hours and have a B+ (3.5) grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Discover DACC Information Nights - Two Sessions Scheduled in Hoopeston & Danville

Current high school sophomores and juniors and their families are invited to explore the options of dual enrollment at Danville Area Community College when they attend one of the free Discover DACC Nights offered on March 1 at 6pm in Hoopeston and March 2 at 6pm in the Bremer Center on the main campus in Danville. Free refreshments include appetizers and desserts.

Academic Challenge in Engineering and Science (ACES) Competition Held at DACC 8 High Schools Competed

Danville Area Community College hosted the Academic Challenge in Engineering and Science (ACES) Regional competition, a test of aptitudes in Mathematics and Science, on February, 7, 2023.  The regional competition was sponsored by the Math, Sciences & Health Professions Division at Danville Area Community College.

DACC Corporate Education Sexual Harassment Prevention Training

Danville Area Community College’s Corporate Education is providing Sexual Harassment Prevention Training on Friday, March 3, 2023.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT PREVENTION TRAINING – Two hour workshop designed to guide you through the knowledge to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. Presented by Annie Monyok, Monyok Leadership.

The training will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 from 8-10AM. at the DACC Bremer Conference Center. Cost is $55 per person.

Donors Create a U of I Scholarship at DACC

Tom and Beth Chamberlain have once again endowed a scholarship at Danville Area Community College.

But unlike their first scholarship, which helps foot the bill for current DACC students, this second scholarship supports DACC grads who transfer to the University of Illinois.

The Tom and Beth Chamberlain Scholarship has been at DACC since 2017. Each year, two female students receive up to $1,000 for tuition, books, or fees. To be eligible, they need to maintain a B or better grade average and major in a science program.

DACC Enrollment Soars by 16 Percent

DANVILLE, IL, Jan. 31, 2023 –What a difference a year makes.

Danville Area Community College’s credit-hour enrollment jumped by more than 16 percent for the spring semester, based on the 10th-day report. Overall headcount topped 2,000, which is 11 percent higher than during the previous spring. Full-time enrollment increased by more than 21 percent.
