DACC Hosts 15th Annual Car Show

The Danville Area Community College Technology Division will host the 15th Annual Car & Truck Show on Saturday, May 27, 2023, in the Technology Center Parking Lot at DACC.

Registration is from 9AM-11AM for a fee of $15. Trophies at 3PM. The show is open to all makes and models of cars and trucks.

The event is FREE for spectators!

Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 entries. Additional award categories include:
• Top 25 cars
• Top 20 trucks
• Top 5 youth (16-21)
• DACC Students’ choice

DACC Hosts Open House on Career in Early Childhood Education

The Danville Area Community College Liberal Arts Division will host an Open House to advance your career in Early Childhood Education on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 5-7PM, in the DACC Child Development Center, 2000 E. Main St., Danville.

The open house is being co-sponsored with the Child Care Resource Center.

DACC to Confer Degrees at 2023 Commencement Exercises

Danville Area Community College is pleased to confer degrees and certificates on more than 300 graduates during Commencement exercises on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 7PM in Mary Miller Gymnasium. About 160 graduates are expected to participate in the Ceremony. The event will be live streamed on YouTube for friends and family who aren’t able to attend in person.

DACC Names Employees of the Year

Danville Area Community College showed its appreciation for employees with an Employee Appreciation ceremony in April. All employees were treated to a sumptuous buffet provided by the Culinary Arts program during the annual ceremony, which honored the year’s retirees, celebrated years of service, and revealed the Employees of the Year in four categories.

Summer & Fall 2023 Classes at DACC

Register now for Summer and Fall 2023 classes at Danville Area Community College. Appointments with Advising & Counseling can be made by calling 217-443-8750 or visit www.dacc.edu/aac to schedule an advisement appointment. Advisement appointments can be in-person, via Zoom, or over the phone. Advisement & Counseling walk-ins are every Wednesday.

Early Summer classes begin May 22, 2023 and Regular Summer classes begin June 12, 2023.

Deadlines to apply for Danville Area Community College Fall 2023 Health Career Programs

DACC’s College For Kids Summer 2023 Camps

Danville Area Community College’s Community Education department is offering College For Kids Summer Camps 2023. See the individual camp information for exact dates, times and ages.

Camps offered include: Jaguar Basketball Camp, Sports Media Camp, Minecraft, eSports Action, Computer & Game Design, Welding, Art Studio 101, Explore Pottery, DACC Master Baker, First Gig Rock Camp, Jaguar Cheer, Music Mania, Leadership Master Camp and Lego Robotics. Camp ages vary from 8-18.

Celebrating Community College Month: DACC Finance Department Wins Finance Award for 10th Year

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to Danville Area Community College by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022. This marks the Department’s 10th year of recognition. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

In celebration of Community College Month, the Business & Technology Division at DACC is throwing open the doors to its community partners, friends, and the curious public.

Dean Terri Cummings, leader of the Division, says, “We want to show off to our community the great career and technical education opportunities available here at DACC. We want the public to see where our students gain hands-on experience and foundational skills for successful futures in the many industries and businesses in Vermilion County.”
