Math 118


Course Description:  An overview of ideas and concepts in mathematics and approaches to teaching mathematics.  Topics from algebra, geometry, theory of numbers, mathematical logic, probability, statistics, and instruction techniques such as lesson plans, centers, assessment, blooms taxonomy, and the seven intelligences.  Not for math or science majors. Prerequisite:  Appropriate score on Mathematics Placement or successful completion of MATH 101.  Not to be taken in lieu of Math 105.  Note:  This course may or may not transfer for credit to other institutes.  You must double check this with your intended four-year college.
