Veterans Multipurpose Employment Center

Veterans Multipurpose Employment Center

The Veterans Multipurpose Employment Center serves the Veteran population in the areas of training and employment. The VMEC is designed to help Veterans successfully compete in the job market while alleviating employment-related barriers.

Services provided by the VMEC include: career counseling and skills assessment, workshops, student veteran orientation, current listing of employment opportunities, labor market information and job search tips, resume development, online career libraries and access links, assistance in navigating the college system, training access, and other supportive services.

The VMEC is the hub of information for other Veterans-based community services and networks. Illiana Vet to Vet, a Veterans support group, meets weekly on the DACC campus.

A chapter of Student Veterans of America has been established on the DACC campus. Danville Area Community College’s veterans’ organization is an affiliate chapter of the national organization Student Veterans of America (SVA).

SVA membership offers student veterans not only the camaraderie of their peers, but also the opportunity to apply for SVA scholarships, attend national conferences, and to use their standing as a veteran to influence their campus and community through a variety of civic projects.

The VMEC is located within the Career & Employment Services Center, Lincoln Hall, room 104. Contact Carla Boyd at 443-8593 or email to
