Danville Area Community College began its reaccreditation
journey in August 2006 with the formation of the Steering
Committee and the Criterion Chairs. At that time the
comprehensive visit seemed a long way off. During the
course of the next two and one-half years, approximately
ninety people served on a self-study committee or team
and thus were directly involved in the self-study process.
Many others did not serve on a team but participated
indirectly by providing valuable information to committee
and team members.
Along the way the Steering Committee and teams were
ever mindful of the College's core value, communication,
which DACC defines as "positive and productive
relationships and environment for those it serves."
One way it fosters communication is "by openly
exchanging thoughts, messages, information and ideas
throughout the College." Examples of activities
and events by which the Steering Committee and teams
communicated developments in the self-study process
with the larger campus and community are listed below.
