Specialist, Student Support Services
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Education,
Special Education, or related field; excellent written and oral
communication skills; ability to work with individuals from diverse
backgrounds with respect to socioeconomic levels, race, ethnicity,
gender, physical and mental attributes, etc; familiarity with computers
and various software; ability to plan, organize, and coordinate
activities; ability to work one to two evenings per week and some
weekend hours, based on need.
Desired qualifications include a Master's Degree in Education, Special
Education, or related field; experience working with students with
disabilities, particularly learning disabilities; experience working in
post secondary education; supervisory experience; evidence of success
in overcoming barriers similar to to those confronting participants in
the TRIO Student Support Services Program (first generation college
student, low income, or disability); experience working with assistive
technology, such as TTY and voice recognition software. Position
is full time, 52 weeks/year, 40 hours/week. Targeted minimum
salary: $27,914.00
