DACC Players will present “The Last Five Years,” a musical story that explores a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. The show uses a form of storytelling in which Cathy's story is told in reverse chronological order (beginning the show at the end of the marriage), and Jamie's is told in chronological order (starting just after the couple have first met). The characters directly interact only in the middle at their wedding as their timelines intersect. This is a two character musical starring Flyn Williams (Fanny Brice from Funny Girl) and Bryan Jenkins (Nick Arnstein from Funny Girl).
The show will be a dinner theater on September 8, 9, and 10. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th and 9th and at 1:00 p.p. on the 10th. The sit-down dinner will include a mushroom chicken breast, sides, salad and desserts prepared by DACC Culinary Arts classes and served by the cast members of The Rocky Horror Show. The performances will take place in the Bremer Theater on the DACC campus.
Musical director for “The Last Five Years” is Eric Simonson, and show directors are Phil Langley and Glenda Boling. The cost of dinner, dessert, and the show is $27.50 for everyone. Tickets will be available soon at www.daccplayers.com or by emailing
