COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Under the direct and/or indirect supervision of qualified radiologic technologists, students will perform radiologic procedures, provide patient care and assessment and participate in quality management as appropriate for their level in the clinical setting.
PREREQUISITES:
Successful Completion of RDTC200, RDTC201, RDTC202, and RDTC209
NOTES:

COURSE OBJECTIVES / GOALS:
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
  • Evaluate the procedure requisition and assess the patients condition
  • Prepare the physical facilities
  • Provide proper patient care, comfort and management
  • Manipulate the equipment and select the exposure factors
  • Accurately position the patient
  • Provide radiation protection for patient, self and others
  • Properly process the image
  • Evaluate the image for diagnostic quality
  • Maintain standards of patient confidentiality
  • Adapt and modify procedures for the specifics of each patient
  • Adhere to the concepts and practice of teamwork in the clinical setting
  • Bring the procedure to closure following the standard practice of the clinical site
