COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This class will train students to evaluate and work defensively at an incident involving the release of hazardous materials.  The student will understand the relevance of standard operating guidelines and how they play a role in hazardous materials operations.

This course is not available for web registration.

COURSE OBJECTIVES / GOALS:
At completion of this course the student will understand the laws, regulations and standards that are involved in hazardous materials.  The student will also recognize and identify the terms related to hazardous materials including personal protective equipment, protective actions and responses to terrorism.

EVALUATION:
Scheduled quizzes over assigned materials will be given as well as a comprehensive final exam.  The final exam will count as one-third of final grade.  Research paper will be done.  Students will be graded on class participation as well.
