Kotut sets School Record!
10/6/2008
LOUISVILLE — Against some of the best in the nation on Saturday, Danville
Area Community College’s Mathew Kotut broke the school record with a time
of 24 minutes, 50 seconds at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic.
Kotut’s time beat out the record of Alan Wilson, who has a time of 25:13
in 1976. The effort was good for 37th place in the gold race of the
classic against mostly Division I competition.
“It was a great effort by Mathew in a loaded field in Louisville,” DACC
coach Brian Rohrbach said. “This was a record that stood for a long time
and to break a record in a program that has this much tradition and
success is very impressive.”
In the blue race, Zach Bowling was 29th (26:36) for the Jaguars while
David Guinn was 56th (27:18 and Doug Powers was 72nd (27:39).
